After a successful 2012 where Stonebwoy Burniton’s Climax was played on Radio stations as far North as USA and South as South Africa via Zambia, we knew there was more to come.
From the beginning of 2013, the team behind Stonebwoy’s success, assisted by Silky Entertainment (Ticket Ghana) to organise Stonebwoy’s 25th Birthday Bash and Video Premiere for his track Onumade which features Bardman Tinny on 5th March 2013 (which also worked out to be a Pre-Ghana Independence celebration). This event was due to be held at Club Invasion in East Legon, one of Accra’s largest clubs with a capacity of 500 guests. The show had attracted interest from a lot of artists such as Kwaw Kese, R2bees, Buk Bak, Edem, Jupitar, Iwan, Paapa Wastik amongst others. On the night, all the stated artists were present along with others such as Ruff and Smooth.
For such a hardworking artist that Stonebwoy is, he was in the club from the very start to make sure all his fans, guests and colleagues were enjoying his very own event and celebration. The venue was about 75% full but about 3 hours after the doors opened for the night and from the response by the guests to each song Stonebwoy performed, the statement each person left the venue saying was “Ghana’s love for Stonebwoy is permanent”.
Stonebwoy knew that this was a busy week and after 3 days of performances he sat back and said “this is what sets the ordinary apart from the greatest”. The video for Onumade featuring Bardman Tinny was released on Stonebwoy’s debut album Grade #1 a year ago but not as a single and therefore did not qualify for the Ghana Music Awards 2013. The track that was nominated however was Ghetto Love featuring Irene Logan in the Afro Pop category. So far this year, Stonebwoy has been on the Late Night Celebrity Show, Music Music in Volta Region, Music Music Accra, as well as various radio show; he is sure to be more visible as we continue the promotional campaign for the various videos being release and towards the Ghana Music Awards voting.
To vote for Ghetto Love featuring Irene Logan in the Afro Pop category text ‘M6’ to 1767 (all Ghana networks).
